The AI Waste Check is a free, anonymous tool that analyzes an OpenAI or Anthropic usage export (CSV) and shows where your AI spend is going — with every cost recomputed from Cromus's verified model-price registry rather than trusting the numbers in your file.
The tool is privacy-first by design: your file is security-scanned and parsed entirely in memory, the raw file is discarded the moment parsing finishes, and nothing is written to the database. The computed summary (totals, per-model breakdown, findings, and registry-grounded savings scenarios) lives in a temporary in-memory store and is deleted automatically after 30 minutes. The usage data is never sent to any LLM or third party — the analysis is deterministic local computation with zero AI calls.
No account is required. Optional share links expose rounded summary figures only — no row-level data, identifiers, or filenames. Sign in to map rows to workflows, measure Croms (preventable AI workflow waste), and run the Reality Check loop over time.
