SKILL.md is the portable upstream of agent governance.
Every agent registry needs a format. SKILL.md is that format — a validator-checkable description of an AI capability that travels with the skill across runtimes. Cromus Native, Replit Agent, AgentSkills.io, OpenClaw, and any other governance stack can ingest a valid SKILL.md without conversion.
When you author a SKILL.md, you're producing the upstream artifact that registry layers (Google Agent Platform's Layer 2, AWS Bedrock Agents, Replit Agents, etc.) pull from. Cromus is the platform where those artifacts get authored, validated, and governed before they ship.
